SUMMER TIRES
Performance on the Road!
Whether you're taking vacation trips to the mountains or lake, or a trip to Grandma's, Alberta summers offer a wide variety of road conditions. Reduce your risk on the road by purchasing summer tires. Like a good pair of shoes, a good set of summer tires means you'll be confident on both wet and dry roads throughout the summer months. In our store we can help you find, replace, and install the right set of summer tires for your vehicle.
Summer tires are built for enhanced performance in all sorts of weather, from pouring rain to hot and dry. Kipp Scott GMC Buick in Red Deer recommends switching to summer tires when the temperature climbs above 7 degrees Celsius.
Don't forget to ask about our free tire storage while you're here.
GUARANTEED LOW PRICES
We won't be undersold!
Many people think that buying tires from a dealership will be more expensive than buying from a discount tire store. This is simply untrue. Kipp Scott GMC Buick is committed to providing quality tires and we refuse to be undersold! If you find an advertised price that is lower than ours, we'll match it.
As a dealership we also have extended tire warranty available. This allows you to drive comfortably, knowing that if something happens, you're covered. The value of warranty far exceeds the cost in the long run! As an added bonus, when you purchase and install your tires at Kipp Scott GMC Buick, we make sure your tires are rotated and balanced to avoid issues down the road.
WHEN TO REPLACE OR REPAIR YOUR TIRES
It's crucial to know when a tire should be repaired or replaced.
We can help you determine if you need tire repair service or if purchasing a replacement tire is the better option. We strive to provide prompt and expert service for tire repairs and high-quality replacements for any make and model of vehicle.
Do NOT drive on a flat tire, even for a short distance. It could damage your tire and wheel beyond repair.
To properly determine if a tire is damaged, it must be removed from the wheel for a complete internal inspection. Our technicians can fix most punctures, nail holes, and cuts up to about ¼ inch deep. Tread with punctures larger than ¼ inch, sidewall punctures, or tires that are worn down to less than ¹⁄₁₆ inch are usually beyond repair and need replacing.
EXTENDING THE LIFE OF YOUR TIRES
Tips and Tricks to keep your tires rolling longer
In order to get the most out of your tires, make sure you're taking care of them!
Tire Rotations
Tires should be rotated approximately every 8,000 kms. It's best to have this service done by a Certified Technician: we offer proper balancing and alignment to ensure your safety on the road.
Tire Wear
Beware of tire wear! Excessive wear on your tires is not only harmful to your vehicle but can make driving extremely dangerous in many conditions. Watch for the warning signs: excessive wear on the inside, outside, or shoulder of the tire; patchy or diagonal tread patterns; cord or fabric showing through the rubber; punctures, cuts, and irreparable damage. Each of these issues requires a different solution and your Service Advisor at Kipp Scott GMC Buick will gladly assist you.
Cleaning Tires
Most tire manufacturers recommend only using soap and water to clean your tires. Other compounds contain ingredients that can cause damage to rubber.
Tire Storage
Tires should be stored away from sources of electrical fields, such as motors and generators, and should never come into contact with petroleum products as this can harm the rubber. If your vehicle is parked for an extended period of time, tires can lose air pressure; be sure to check your vehicle and inflate your tires to the proper psi (as indicated in the owner's manual or inside the vehicle, usually the driver’s side door frame) before driving your vehicle after it has been sitting for a long time. Kipp Scott GMC Buick offers seasonal tire storage at an affordable price.
